Planning Your Arrival

When you are planning your trip to North Carolina, the nearest airport to Chapel Hill is Raleigh/Durham International Airport. It is located in the Research Triangle Park (RTP) and close to Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill. By car it is just a 20 minute drive to the airport. If you are coming from Europe or via Europe there are direct flights from London (American Airlines) and Paris (Delta Airlines). The direct flights should be back on schedule post pandemic.

We are offering free airport pick-ups for those arriving during ‘normal hours’ (not too late at night).

RDU your arrival airport. Do not fly into Charlotte, it is about 3 hours from Chapel Hill and there are no buses or trains connecting frequently. Due to our infrastructure here in the South, public transportation is still very special and not a common thing people use.

If you are adventurous, you can fly into Washington, D.C. or New York are airports and take the Amtrak train or Mega Bus to Durham Station, which is about 30 minutes from Chapel Hill. . But again, these don’t run often and with lots of luggage, it is an adventure.
